Who we are
TEMP is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that partners with the private and public sectors to implement pilot projects, advocate for policy, and conduct research to support electric mobility uptake.
Our coalition includes partnerships with several NYC-based non-profits and consultancies, including Barretto Bay Strategies, Brightside, Empire Clean Cities, NYU Stern Center of Sustainable Business, Spring Bank, and Transportation Alternatives.
We have a track record of shaping policy and piloting new projects to support access to e-mobility:
In 2021, we piloted NYC’s first e-bike subsidy program.
In 2022, we successfully engaged NYC agencies to find alternatives to an e-bike ban in public housing facilities.
In 2023, we designed and launched the first credit-building e-bike loan available regardless of credit history.
In 2024, we implemented the first large-scale e-bike exchange program to support delivery workers trading hazardous e-bikes and mopeds for UL-2849-certified models. The Sustainable Affordable Fire-Safe E-bike (SAFE) program exchanged 250 dangerous vehicles and became a model for NYC’s trade-in program.
We are committed to partnering with forward-thinking organizations to advance ideas and projects that expand mobility options for all.
